Second assignment for the Animation class – ITP Fall 2017

Representation of some passages in the book “Cien años de soledad” (One Hundred Years of Solitude) by Gabriel García Márquez.

Making of…

I wanted to represent some key passages of the book “One Hundred Years of Solitude”:
– The beginning, where Aureliano Buendía remembers the first time his father took him to get to know the ice, while in front of a shooting squad
– The killing of José Arcadio by a gun shot, that makes a thread of blood cross the town of Macondo to let his mother know he was killed
– The yellow butterflies that accompany Mauricio Babilonia
– The ascension of Remedios the Beauty
– And Melquíades’ book, which end up destroying everything

The hardest part was getting the assets. They need to have a good enough quality, and as much as you want, they never match up the ideas you have on your mind. It has to be a much more satisfying process when you can make your own assets, but for this assignment, there was no way I could make them on my own.
